BEDSIDE TABLES should be far from an afterthought. They can serve as an essential component of your bedroom and frame the focal point, which is your bed. Bedside tables also have functional purposes for lighting, spot for your books, reading glasses and other essentials and for your favourite display.

1. SIZE
When you’re choosing bedside tables, you want a scale that works well with the rest of your room. For example, if you have a smaller space to work with, go with a sleeker design or a minimal-style bedside table. If you have a larger room, you can go with bedside tables that have a heavier overall footprint.
They don’t necessarily have to match either—sometimes you can go with two different, although complementary, tables on either side of your bed.

2. LIGHTING
As far as styling bedside tables, an important must-have is a lighting source. When you’re relaxing in your bedroom, you want to have different ambient lighting options aside from harsh overhead lights, and lamps can provide that.

3. STYLING
While everything on your table doesn’t necessarily have to match, you do want items to be cohesive and built around a general theme.

You want your bedroom to be a space that’s about all the things you love, so you might add a stack of books, or perhaps a special framed photo.

Bedside tables are also a good place to integrate organic items. This could include flowers, coral, shells or greenery. If your bedroom is fairly neutral in its' colour palette, bedside tables are a good place to add some pops of colour.
